(Reduced Standard Consumption Tax [NoVA])
As of 1 July 2005 the Standard consumption tax was reduced by EUR 300.00 for newly registered vehicles equipped with particulate filters (maximum particulate emission 0.005 g/km).

Surcharge

(Increased Standard Consumption Tax [NoVA])
As of 1 July 2005 the fuel consumption tax was raised by 0.75% of the NoVA tax assessment basis (EUR 150.00 maximum) for newly registered vehicles with more than 80 kW (109 BHP) if not equipped with particulate filters (particulate emission higher than 0.005g/km)

For vehicles under 80 kW this regulation will only apply as of 1 January 2006.

Independent of the engine output, the Standard Consumption Tax (NoVA) was raised by 1.5% of its assessment basis (EUR 300 maximum), starting from 1July 2005.
